President's Greeting

The name "BM Nagano" is very unique.

The origin of the name has become a common question I receive from people I meet for the first time and part ways with. "BM" stands for the initials of the founder, Bunichi Murakami. "Nagano" was inspired by the idea given by Kelvin, the Chairman of the British company KELVIN IMPEX, who was a business partner at the time. This name was chosen to express gratitude to the people in Nagano and Gunma prefectures, which were the centers of electronic component manufacturing back then. Including your own name and the name of the prefecture in the company name symbolizes "taking full responsibility" and "not forgetting the gratitude from the time of founding," as my father always told me. I interpret the company name as a reflection of the founder's determination and conviction.

The Murakami family has a lineage of temple priests in the main branch, and I've heard that my grandfather served as a priest throughout his life. I grew up in Shonan, Kanagawa Prefecture, from my early childhood until I graduated from university. After graduating, I joined a foreign electronics company. After a few years of work, I joined BM Nagano under the leadership of my father, Bunichi Murakami, who is the current chairman and the founder. That was 29 years ago.

After joining, I worked at the domestic offices. I fondly remember the sweat shared with the few colleagues we had at the time. Later, I worked for our overseas subsidiaries in Singapore and Malaysia for over 10 years.

The rapidly changing Japan and the world, and the connections in the world, sometimes lead to "encounters." It may be about reconciling those desires and wishes with the realities within the company and taking that destiny on oneself. It might be an encounter with good fortune. Regardless of which it is, it all starts with cherishing these connections. By valuing each and every connection, new encounters are born, and eventually, they come full circle and return as a larger "circle."

Connections between people, support, performance, celebration, garden, and the grand circle.

In the interconnected world of Japan and the world, BM Nagano values these connections and aims to be a company that can contribute to society, even if it's just a little, in the next 10 years and the following 50 years.
